ENTREPRENEURIAL CENTER

Giving Talented Haitians the Tools They Need to Achieve

Haiti is understood – correctly – to be a place with many challenges. But for talented people with an entrepreneurial mindset and the right tools, big challenges mean big opportunity. The Kwasans Entrepreneurial Center will develop and support new generations of homegrown businesspeople and entrepreneurs who can help Haiti turn the corner to create sustainability, growth and prosperity, whether they choose to work in government or the private sector.

Currently under construction in Hinche, Haiti, the Center will be a branch of the University of Notre Dame Haiti’s Hinche Campus, which is just a few miles from the site, with business programs and degrees offered through the school. It will also be a nexus for business contacts, sources of capital and other resources.

What Will Be Housed at the Center?

  • Business/Entrepreneurial Program offering 2-year degree through the University of Notre Dame Haiti – an extension of the Hinche Campus
  • Vocational school providing initial and ongoing training, degrees and certifications for positions in “the trades,” including electricians, plumbers, mechanics, information technology (IT), medical technicians and more
  • A Venture Capital Center connecting our graduates and the Haiti business community with sources of capital and credit to fuel businesses, ideas and initiatives

Our goal is to raise $200,000 to complete the Center. Your donation will help Haiti develop an entrepreneurial foundation from which business fundamentals, innovation, progress and growth can be established and flourish.

Thank you for your contribution!

BIOSCIENCE PROGRAM – BUILDING CAREERS AND HAITIAN CAPABILITIES

THE FIRST OF ITS KIND ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAM IN HAITI.

Launched in 2015, the joint Kwasans/University of Notre Dame Haiti 2-year Bioscience Program  housed at the school’s Hinche campus has already graduated 45 new professionals, including 18 youths from Maison Fortuné Orphanage. Expertise of this sort is in strong demand in medical and laboratory settings and will increasingly be needed to provide technical, regulatory and quality control support for emerging Haitian government, business and industry ventures that have largely been outsourced in the past.
